nasal Allergy

We are around that time of year again when allergens are in abundance and our body prone to spring allergy attacks. There is bloom in the atmosphere but sad part is that it releases pollens into the air that causes the common symptoms of sinus and nasal allergies rush up. How dreadful is that feeling for allergic people who keep sniffling and sneezing rather than enjoying bloom. The most common problem associated with allergy is it keeps recurring and is easily transmittable.

Of course it is not possible to cure allergy overnight but we can surely take some precautions and safeguard ourselves in this spring.

Protect nasal membrane

There is a thin lining of hairs in our nasal cavity known as Cilia, which is responsible to allergy attacks. Whenever this cilia comes in contact with the pollens generate in the air, it causes allergic reactions in our nasal membrane. Sneezing, sniffling runny nose, and itchy forehead are common symptoms of affected cilia. The only way to protect your cilia is to keep it moist and continuous use of saline water.

Use Xylitol

The only way to protect your cilia is to keep your nasal membranes moist. Xylitol is an alkaline solution that is cilia friendly and soaks your cilia in alkaline sugar that acts as an impediment to allergy causing bacteria. It was discovered in the 18th century and has become a very popular nose wash and can be easily found in any chemist shop or as over the counter medication. Xylitol is also produced by our body and found in abundance in tress and fruits. It is a natural allergy repellant and has no side effects. Recommended by doctors, Xylitol offers many benefits which are as follows

  • A high glycemic index of 7, which is considered to be good.
  • Recommended by Dentists as it prevents tooth decay
  • Reduces bacterial growth which is one of the prominent way of allergy
  • Alkaline nature which is harmless for body.

 Increase water intake

Last but not the least, drink lots and lots of water as it helps in flushing down the bacteria’s from our system and serves as natural allergy medication. It is natural cleanser and purifier. Consult an expert allergy doctor if problem continues to exist.
