Common Allergies

Food allergies can be very hazardous if gone undiagnosed.  A wheat allergy or strawberry allergy can cause your throat to swell, which may make it difficult to breathe.  You should be careful to always avoid your allergens, particularly ones that can be ingested.  The best way to be prepared for a potential allergic reaction is to get tested for a wide range of possible allergens!  A skin allergy test tends to be the most effective way to test for common allergens.  During this test, your allergist will expose your skin to a number of different allergens to see which ones cause allergic reactions.

Allergy Testing

Your skin allergy test will let you know whether or not you have peanut allergies, gluten allergies, pet dander allergies, grass allergies or pollen allergies.  Your allergy doctor will provide you with a number of helpful allergy remedies to have you feeling better immediately!  If your allergies are overpowering to the point that you are having trouble completing day-to-day tasks, allergy shots are always an option.  An allergy shot is actually a low dose of the allergen itself to help your body build up a resistance to whatever is causing you to experience allergy symptoms.
